The Tugboat Captain is responsible for supervising the towing and booming activities at Arrow’s Log Towing Division. The Tugboat Captain ensures compliance with industry and government regulations, and company policies and procedures. Duties will include, but are not limited to, overseeing maintenance of the vessels, navigation of the vessels, safe construction, supervision of the crew, storage of log booms and protection of the environment.

The Tugboat Captain will be in communication with the customer on a day-to-day basis and responsible for coordinating crewmembers to ensure service commitments and expectations are achieved. All crewmembers on the vessel(s) and at the booming grounds will report directly to this individual. In addition to the supervisory responsibilities, this individual will be required to captain the vessel on a regular basis and ensure a safe, efficient, and productive operation.
Skills and Requirements
- Minimum 2 - 5 years’ experience working in the log towing industry
- Preference for previous lead-hand or supervisory experience
- Possess a valid “Master, limited for a vessel of less than 60 gross tonnages”, or a "Master minor waters" or higher certification

The Deckhand, reporting to the Tugboat Captain, assists with making of the tow, transfer of rigging, and with breaking down the tow. They must be able to understand and carry out the orders and directions of the Tugboat Captain. The Deckhand must be prepared to take short wheel watch under the direction of the Captain when required. The Deckhand also performs a variety of tasks that include but are not limited to standard housekeeping duties, painting, chipping, fuel transfers, towing tackle, loading trailers and general maintenance. The Deckhand performs duties in all types of weather. Deckhands must be capable of lifting or moving objects that are heavy and awkward. The Deckhand for this operation will be cross-trained as a Boom Person so that we maintain the flexibility to respond to fluctuating workflows

Chase for a Labourer in the Public Works/Parks Department. Tasks include but are not limited to:
